We are so blessed to have Pastor Walt Barrett with our church for a couple years. Besides carefully expositing God’s Word to us each week, he also reminds us of the sovereign reign of God in our affairs. Pastor Walt reminds us that whatever sort of week we have just come through, God is still on his throne – “He was all last week, He is today, and He will be in the week to come.”
We are sent out each Sunday with his godly charge and benediction:
Now, go into the world in peace.
Have courage.
Hold onto that which is good
and honor all men.
Strengthen the faint-hearted,
support the weak,
help the suffering,
comfort the grieving,
restore the wandering,
and share the gospel.
Love and serve the Lord
in the power of the Holy Spirit.
And may the grace and the peace
of God be with us all.
